Before opening my first store, The Stand Mercantile, in Shelter Island, NY, I was an accessories and apparel buyer for fifteen years at high end boutiques in New York and Massachusetts. Throughout my career as well as in my personal life, finding those items that beg the question, “where did you get that??” has always excited me. It is a true labor of love to scour the wholesale markets, showrooms, boutiques, the internet, befriending and collaborating with designers and artists whose creations make us feel and look incredible.

As a mom of two, I value having a wardrobe stocked with pieces that work, and things I’m happy to put on. Fit and fabric are non-negotiables for any investment made in your closet. Often it’s that one small thing, that make us stand out and look completely pulled together.

I opened The Stand in March 2024 after finding the perfect little space on Purchase St. in Rye, NY, one of my favorite places long before I became a shop owner. Everything seemed to align at just the right moment, and I feel incredibly lucky to be part of such a special community, surrounded by wonderful neighbors.

The Stand is a true reflection of my personal taste and long time relationships in fashion. The boutique is filled with a tight, thoughtful curation of pieces I genuinely love- a mix of lines I’ve carried for years and new designers I am thrilled to introduce to clients.Our collections come from France, Italy, Los Angeles, New York, Argentina, Denmark, Australia and beyond, chosen for their individuality, quality, and styles you won’t see everywhere.

More than anything, The Stand is about experience. We offer warm, personal, one-on-one service in a cozy, welcoming space where every client can feel comfortable, inspired, cared for, and uniquely themselves.
